My Passion for Healthcare

My father was a physician, and my mother an educator. I have wanted to be both, and on a daily basis in Family Medicine, I think I can do both. I take care of people and their families in times of wellness and illness, and do my best to educate them on healthiest ways of navigating their busy lives. It is a rewarding experience for me to intervene on someone’s behalf, and make them well when they were otherwise sick or vulnerable. It is an immensely rewarding experience, on the other hand, to feel that I can teach someone how to avoid being sick or vulnerable again.

My Clinical Focus

I don’t feel that I can confine myself to a specific discipline within the scope of Family Medicine. My focus, if that is what you may call it, is that I think of my patients as family. I try to treat them as I would someone in my family at home. I try to listen to what they say, and strive to get at the deeper meaning of what they present to me in illness or questions of health. And then I try to present a practical approach to dealing with the health issues they have, as though I were giving that same advice to someone at home.
