My Passion for Healthcare

I went to Medical School because my mom told me to. It was eye-opening to be truly interested in studying something that fascinated me. I went to Medical School to practice Family Medicine, but found myself attracted to the Operating Room, especially operations involving the spine. Through training in a County Hospital in Miami, a Level One Trauma Center in San Antonio and my Deployment to Afghanistan, I am familiar with every aspect of trauma as it applies to the central and peripheral nervous system.

My Clinical Focus

Although surgery is often indicated, I like to help patients find alternative means of addressing their concerns. When surgery is an option, I like to approach things from a minimally invasive route. By using small incisions and minimizing surgical trauma, I hope to perform a tailored surgery that will decrease pain and increase functionality. I also enjoy surgical approaches from a minimally invasive anterior or lateral approach. When applicable, I also enjoy performing motion sparing, non-fusion options such as disc replacements.
