Robot-assisted surgery offers patients potential benefits including faster recovery, minimal scarring and more
Robot assisted-surgery allows surgeons to perform complex surgeries through tiny incisions with greater precision, vision and control, offering patients potential benefits such as faster recovery, less pain, a shorter hospital stay, and minimal scarring. The addition of the new da Vinci Xi Surgical System provides advanced robotic technology including high-definition, 3-D visualization. It also allows for enhanced dexterity and greater precision and control for the surgeon.
The da Vinci Xi is used for many procedures in the areas of urology, gynecology and general surgery, including hernia repair. Ascension Providence began utilizing robotic-assisted surgery in 2013 and continues to expand the program to offer exceptional surgical care, closer to home. Ascension Providence’s robotic surgery program remains the only one of its kind in Waco.
