Having joint replacement surgery is a difficult yet important decision…and you don’t have to do it alone. The first program of its kind in Central Texas, Providence Health Center’s Joint Camp is focused around patient education, group therapy and fun.
Joint Camp is a comprehensive and coordinated effort that involves everyone from admission clerks and lab personnel to nurses and dietary staff. A patient’s introduction to Joint Camp happens the week before surgery. During an hour-long orientation, patients are introduced to each other as well as the occupational therapists and physical therapists. They are led through a notebook filled with pre- and post-op expectations, information about medications and other important guidelines.
With a focus of clinical excellence and patient satisfaction, the Joint Camp’s team of highly trained clinicians is dedicated to delivering better overall outcomes in patient care. From the very first pre-surgery visit to the actual surgery and on to recovery, the Joint Camp at Providence provides comprehensive care that patients can trust.
