We at Waco Center for Women’s Health are proud to announce the start of our new da Vinci robot surgery program. We are excited to have the opportunity to offer this new technology to the patients of Central Texas.
The da Vinci robot was first approved for gynecology in 2006. In our opinion, this modality allows us to take patients that would have their surgeries normally performed via open abdominal incisions and allow the same surgeries to be performed as outpatient procedures or as overnight observation patients. They are often able to return to work within a few weeks and they appear to have significantly less discomfort and blood loss than both abdominal surgery and the laparoscopic procedures that we have been performing for the last several years. In fact, several patients have reported taking pain medicine for only one or two days.
There is no other gynecologic group on the Waco market that is offering this at this time, and we truly feel that this advance is of tremendous benefit to the gynecologic patients of Central Texas. If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to make an appointment to talk to any of our gynecologists.
In addition to the da Vinci robot, we continue to offer the full array of laparoscopic options for surgery. Our doctors are excellent laparoscopic surgeons and can assist you in making an informed, appropriate decision on surgical management for several gynecologic problems. Our goal is always to successfully treat our patients with a minimum impact on family and work schedules.
