Scott Huitink, MD
Dr. Scott Huitink loves being a Pediatrician and strives to improve families in the care of their children by encouraging, educating, and providing parents with up-to-date medical expertise. Dr. Huitink especially enjoys working in the areas of adolescent medicine (acne, sports medicine, pubertal development, behavioral changes, etc.), childhood asthma, children with special needs, and the medical care of international adoptees.
Dr. Huitink received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas College of Medical Sciences (UAMS) and completed his pediatric residency training with the San Antonio Military Medical Center affiliated hospitals where he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for a unique international adoptee case presentation.
Dr. Huitink arrived in Waco from Heidelberg, Germany, where he practiced medicine as a military pediatrician. He also completed an extended deployment to Iraq and was awarded the Army’s Bronze Star Medal for service and leadership.
Dr. Huitink has established himself as an advocate for the needs of children in Central Texas and has been instrumental in the education and implementation of clinical standards to better identify children with autism and other developmental delays. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Texas Medical Association, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
