The Providence Sleep Center was designed with our patients in mind. Along with state-of-the-art equipment, the Sleep Center has experienced physicians and technical staff who work tirelessly in order to provide our patients with exceptional sleep diagnostic care.

R. Christopher Matlock, MD

Dr. Matlock has been board certified in Sleep Medicine since 2011 with over 11 years of practice experience caring for patients with sleep disorders.

Since October 2013, he has served as the Medical Director of the Providence Sleep Center, and established the Providence Sleep Clinic in 2014. In 2005, Dr. Matlock worked with the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck, Texas to establish a sleep lab, and since then has served as their medical director. He is passionate about sleep health and the close connections that sleep disorders have with chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, depression, and obesity. "By taking care of patients' sleep problems, I am practicing preventive medicine, which is at the heart of what I see as my role in medicine."

Dr. Matlock, a graduate from the University of Texas in Austin, graduated in 1996 from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he received the Gold Headed Cane Award. He completed his Family Medicine training at University of Texas at Tyler where he served as Chief Resident in 1998. For 14 years, he practiced rural general medicine in Groesbeck with a broad practice caring for patients of all ages. He has been married for 20 years, and has three children. He is a multigenerational Texan and is fluent both in English and Spanish. 

Meet our Physician's Assistant:

David G. Morris, PA-C, MPAS

Mr. Morris comes to us from Wichita Falls, TX, where he previously worked as a Family Practice Physician Assistant at Sheppard Air Force Base. There, he provided care to military members and their families. Before that, he spent five years working in the Veterans Affairs system providing care for Veterans in the Wichita Falls area. Mr. Morris brings a wealth of diverse experience to our practice.

He served for over 23 years on active duty in the United States Air Force, initially as a Radiology Technician, and then in 1993 he received his Master's Degree is Medicine, serving as a Physician Assistant in the United States Air Force for 14 years before retiring.

Mr. Morris has been married for 36 years; he and his wife have two boys and three grandchildren. He and his family enjoy wood working, and are avid Texas Rangers fans.
