Safety Aspects
Unlike CT and X-Ray, MRI does not use ionizing radiation. However, you will not be able to have an MRI if you have any of the following contraindications:
- Cardiac Pacemaker/Defibrillator
- Cranial Aneurysm Clips
- Metal in the Eyes
- Cochlear Implants
- Weight is excess of 550lbs.
Additionally, you will need to notify the technologist of any of the following:
- Tattoos, Medication Patches or Jewelry
- Spine Surgery or any Recent Surgery
- Claustrophobia, Pregnancy or Nursing
- Renal Disease, Dialysis or Diabetes
