A Day in the Park
Every piece of furniture has been carefully moved into comfortable position and the wood polished to perfection. Favorite paintings have found their rightful place on walls, while family photos adorn every available tabletop and shelf. Residents have settled into their new surroundings at Providence Park, and a normalcy has begun to return to everyday life.

Edith Barcus made the move to Providence Park from St. Catherine's Center. While she expresses a sentimental attachment to her former residence, she thinks her new home is beautiful. She especially enjoys having her own thermostat in her room to control temperature. Every week you'll find Mrs. Barcus having her hair done at the Providence Park beauty salon. "Cheryl gave me a perm a couple of weeks ago, and did a great job," said Mrs. Barcus.

A former resident of Lake Shore Estates, Willie McMullan thinks her new home at The Village at Providence Park is the perfect location. She often drives to her daughter's home in Woodway, to Salado or Lampasas to shop, even to visit her grandsons in Austin and Houston. "I love the independence of having my own car, " she said. Her new apartment is filled with her favorite things, including her organ. "I don't play that well, but I love to make music, " she said.

When it's time for Bingo or a hot game of Chickenfoot, you'll find St. Catherine Center resident Waldo Phillips in the midst of all the fun. He keeps the activities calendar up to date, sets up the dominoes, cards, and games, and even passes out the popcorn. "We've got some real good checker players here," said Mr. Phillips, who admits he doesn't win very often. "That's okay," he says. "I've made some great new friends."

Millicent Jones has lived in Waco all her life. She met her husband Ed while they were at Baylor, then proceeded to travel the world as the wife of an FBI man. Ms. Jones' children helped her relocate to Providence Park, even sending out "Mil is moving" notices to all her friends. Her new apartment is filled with artwork, beautiful antique furniture, and of course, lots and lots of family photographs and the wonderful stories they tell.
