A Top 100 Hospital!

Providence has been recognized as a Top 100 Hospital in the Solucient National Benchmarks for Success – 2005, published in Modern Healthcare. This recognition is for overall hospital performance and is the first time that Providence has received this prestigious recognition. We have been named three times as a Top 100 Heart Hospital by Solucient, twice as a Top Orthopedic Hospital by HealthGrades, and twice as a recipient of the Distinguished Hospital Award for Patient Safety by HealthGrades, but this is the first time we have made the overall Top 100 Hospital list published by Solucient.

The Top 100 list includes fifteen hospitals in the major teaching category, twenty-five teaching hospitals, twenty large hospitals, twenty medium community hospitals, and twenty small community hospitals. Two Ascension Health hospitals made the list --Providence in Waco and St. John’s in Detroit. There were six hospitals in the state of Texas who received recognition – Scott & White was recognized in the major teaching hospital category, East Texas Medical Center in Tyler and Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio in the large community hospital category, Providence in the medium community hospital category, and two – Childress Regional Medical Center and Central Texas Hospital in Cameron – in the small community hospital category.
