The Comprehensive Bariatric Center at Providence is located in the Providence Plaza building at 405 Londonderry, Suite 103 Waco, Texas 76712. The advantage to this location is the close proximity to the hospital. Our hours of operations will be Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM. Our telephone number is (254) 751-4300. Melissa Green, RN is the program coordinator and works closely with our internists and surgeons. Dr. Gayland Sims, FACS is our Medical Director.

Both Dr. Sims and Dr. Moffatt are board certified in Surgery as well as Fellows in the American College of Surgeons with over 31 years of combined surgical experience. Our program is very fortunate to have both of these highly skilled and qualified surgeons available for our patients.

Every potential patient will be required to attend an informational seminar, complete the patient information packet provided at the seminar (including a thorough medical history form), and present documented attempts of failed weight loss before being accepted as a surgical patient.

All patient applicants will be evaluated thoroughly by our professional medical team consisting of nurses, internists, dieticians, psychiatrists and surgeons to determine the appropriateness of gastric bypass surgery for weight loss. All Bariatric Center patients will also be required to attend support groups and educational classes both pre and post op. These meetings are a must in order to help each patient learn to achieve successful weight loss after surgery. The staff at The Comprehensive Bariatric Center at Providence will be available for support and guidance to each patient as they journey along the path to a healthier life.
